about us

Our therapists are truly amazing.

Empire Pediatric Therapy strives to provide their employees with extensive training for the most benefit for everyone we serve. In the last three years, employees of Empire have spent more than 2000 hours in certified continuing education courses.

We specialize in trauma

The body experiences trauma and stores it in the brainstem. The brainstem doesn't have the ability to tell time and therefore it gets "stuck" replaying the trauma in their mind. Most people think of trauma as something BIG, but most is smaller than you would think. We access the brainstem through the tactile system, allowing the brainstem to access "now" and that "now is safe".  This is the reason our children have many of their behavior issues.

Bring it back to the earliest development

Part of our extensive training is about how a fetus develops in utero. There are 6 different movements a fetus practices over and over again which turn into the 22 primitive reflexes observed in an infant. We go back in development to make sure each one of these movements and reflexes emerged and then matured.

Trauma Informed Care

Our bodies hold onto our trauma as a way to protect ourselves. By allowing the brainstem to let go of the past trauma, we can bring children and adults comfort: MNRI® Trauma and PTSD Recovery

Incontinence Therapy

If your child is over the age of three and still having frequent accidents, it's time to come see us!  We educate  the reflexes that run down the vertebrae to allow natural "holding" to prevent accidents.

NO MORE PICKY EATERS!

Feeding Therapy

While still practicing safety for swallow with positioning, bottle selection, and thickening, our therapists use oral/facial reflex integration to mature suck/swallow/breath in infants and older children. The position of which babies naturally feed is also addressed with body work and by facilitating infantile reflexes.

We also increase food tolerances by changing the sensory system in the mouth and epiglottis regulation with primary reflex integration. No more picky eaters!
